1920 born in Offenbach am Main / Germany | 1945 diploma in architecture at “TU Munich” | 1947-55 works at his father´s architectural office in Cologne | 1947-50 designs first independent sacral building in Cologne | 1948 marries the architect Elisabeth HAGGEMÜLLER | 1950-59 births of their four sons Stephan, Markus, Peter, Paul | 1951 visits USA, meets Walter GROPIUS + Ludwig MIES VAN DER ROHE | 1955 takes over his father´s  – Dominikus BÖHM – office | 1975 receives grand prix of the “Federation of German architects” | 1986 honoured by Pritzker Architecture Prize | 1991 honorary member of “Royal Institute of British Architects” | 1993 becomes member of the “Academy of Arts” Berlin | 1997 partnership with his son Paul BÖHM | 2020 celebrates his 100th birthday | 2021 died in Cologne
