American architect, designer of large aquariums and son of Russian-born architect Serge CHERMAYEFF, partner of German architect Erich MENDELSOHN | 1936 born in London / England | 1940 emigrates to the USA | 1962 master in architecture at “Harvard Graduate School of Design”, Cambridge, Massachusetts; he and six friends apply to build the “New England Aquarium” in Boston; they win this contract and register company “Cambridge Seven Associates” (C7A) | 1971 + 1984 two expeditions to Tanzania, makes several wildlife films | 1969-98 completes several aquariums worldwide | 1998 leaves C7A and founds “CSP”, activities extended to architecture, urban development, exhibition design, graphic design and film production
