First German architectural firm to build in the Japanese capital again since 1895, when Berlin architects Hermann Ende + Wilhelm Böckmann opened the then headquarters of the Japanese Ministry of Justice | 1960 born in Düsseldorf, Germany | 1981 studies at the “Düsseldorf Art Academy” under Hans HOLLEIN | 1978-84 studies architecture at “RWTH Aachen University” | 1985 founds own office | 1997 wins competition for the new Stuttgart Main Station – construction starts 2010 | 2022 honoured by “European Prize for Architecture” | 2024 wins “German Sustainability Award”
