1872 born in Hirschberg, then Prussian province | 1894 completes architecture studies at the “Königlich Technische Hochschule Charlottenburg” (today “Technical University of Berlin”; works in Breslau and Glogau (today Polish cities of Wrocław and Głogów) in the planning departments, in Vienna and Berlin in architectural offices | 1901-03 lives and works with Richard SEEL (1854-1922) in Shanghai and Tianjin, China | 1903 moves to Yokohama, Japan, takes over Yokohama office from Seel, who returns to Germany; employee Jan LETZEL | 1905 marries and lives in Yokohama | 1913 appointed as “Königlich-Preußischer Baurat” (Royal Prussian Building Officer) | 1914 died after business tour to Seoul, Korea
