Israeli-American-Canadian architect and urban planner, best known for incorporating principles of social responsibility into his designs. Safdie Architects” is based in Somerville, Massachusetts with offices in Jerusalem, Toronto, Shanghai and Singapore. He has set up a research programme within his company to ensure that it has the best information on technological advances in the construction and architectural fields | 1938 born in Haifa (Mandatory Palestine) | 1953 moves with his family to Montreal, Canada | 1955 enrolls in an architecture programme at McGill University’s Faculty of Engineering | 1961 wins a scholarship and travels across North America to observe the development of housing in the major cities | 2015 receives the  Gold Medal from the “American Institute of Architects”
