Dutch architect and professor emeritus of architecture and urban planning | 1953 born in Amsterdam | 1980-89 works for “Office for Metropolitan Architecture” (OMA) in Rotterdam | 1988 completes his studies in architecture at the “Delft University of Technology” and becomes partner at OMA | 1989 founds “KCAP” =”Kees Christiaanse Architects & Planners” in Rotterdam | 1993-96 becomes design director of the “Dutch State Building Department” in The Hague | 1996-2003 professor of architecture and urban planning at the TU Berlin | 2003~ chair of architecture and urban planning at the ETH Zurich | 2009 curator of the “Internationale Architectuur Biënnale Rotterdam” (IABR) | 2012~ one of the six members of the IBA Berlin | 2020 board of trustees
