Pritzker Architecture Prize

プリツカー賞

1979 – 2024

The Pritzker Prize, also known as the Pritzker Architecture Prize, is considered to be one of the world’s premier architecture prizes, and is often referred to as the Nobel Prize of architecture. It was founded in 1979 by the US American Jay A. Pritzker (owner of the Hyatt hotel chain, among others) and his wife Cindy and has been organised by the “Hyatt Foundation” since their deaths. The annual award is endowed with 100,000 US dollars and is held in high esteem in professional circles. The prize is awarded ‘without regard to nationality, race, creed or ideology’, it says.
