Temple in the Higashi-ku district of the metropolis of Nagoya which belongs to the Buddhist Jôdo school. In 1651, the construction of the temple complex was commissioned by TOKUGAWA Mitsumoto (OWARI clan) for his deceased father TOKUGAWA Yoshina, the founding father of the OWARI. Since that time, the temple has served as a mausoleum for the OWARI-TOKUGAWA family. The temple was rebuilt in 1787, with only the original Sanmon main gate remaining.
