The Zen temple Hôrin-ji, which was founded in 1718 and belongs to the Rinzai school, is a sub-temple of the large Myôshin-ji temple complex located nearby, which is also home to Hanazono University. Hôrin-ji is also known as the “Daruma Temple”, as it includes a hall for daruma dolls. There are also beautiful gardens and a hall for famous actors and actresses.
