For over 1,000 years, a fire ritual has been performed at Naritasan Shinsho-ji under the watchful eye of the god Fudô Myôô. At New Year in particular, the temple is one of the most significant religious sites, alongside the Meiji shrine. The old shopping street Omotesandô with Japanese shops begins in front of the station and leads directly to the temple grounds.
