The Nittai-ji temple, also called Kakuôzan Nittai-ji, was built in 1904 – as a repository for the ashes of Gauthama Buddha, which were a gift from the King of Thailand. Nittai-ji, the “Japan-Thailand Temple” represents the friendly relations between the two countries. The architecture of the temple in the Chikusa-ku district of Nagoya City includes various international influences.
