Temple of the ascetic Yamabushi school founded at the beginning of the 17th century. In 1772, a fire broke out in the Daien-ji temple, destroying almost a third of the capital Edo before it could finally be extinguished. After that, the complex was not allowed to be rebuilt until the mid-19th century.
