Anish KAPOOR

British Indian sculptor specialising in installation art and conceptual art. His works show influences of western and eastern culture as well as religious themes | 1954 born in Mumbay (Bombay), India | 1971 moves to Israel, first living on a kibbutz and then studying electrical engineering | 1973 goes to London, studies art at the “Hornsey College of Art” and later at the “Chelsea College of Art and Design” | 1990 represents Britain at the XLIV Venice Biennale | 2011 honoured by Praemium Imperiale for sculpture of the Imperial House of Japan | 2013 receives title of “Knight Bachelor”.
