French sculptor and conceptual artist whose steel sculptures are represented in many international museums, private collections and public spaces | 1941 born in Château-Arnoux, France | 1958-63 studies at the “Nice Municipal School of Fine Arts” and works then as a set designer at the Nice Opera | 1967 moves to New York | 1974 teaches art and art theory at the “Sorbonne University”, Paris | 1977 takes part in “documenta 6” | 1978 joins “Venice Biennale” | 1988 performs with the “ballet Graduation” at the “Paris Opera” a complete work with music, set and choreography by Venet | 1990s achieves great international resonance, exhibits in Europe and in North and South America.
