Portuguese sculptor | 1966 born in Lisbon | 1984-89 takes the sculpture course at the faculty of fine arts of the “University of Lisbon”, studies sculpture with Jorge VIEIRA and metal technology with António TRINDADE | 1990-92 studies at the “Kunstakademie Düsseldorf” with Gerhard MERZ; develops and consolidates his research on German culture and art that he had started in Portugal | 1992 translates the fragments of “Novalis” from German into Portuguese| 1995 represents Portugal at the 46th Venice Biennale – with José Pedro CROFT and Pedro CABRITA REIS | 2004 joins São Paulo Biennale | 2013 joins pavilion of the Republic of Cuba at the 55th Biennale di Venezi
