Oldest architecture firm – an offspring of “Sumitomo Corporation” in 1900 – and largest planning firm (over 2800 employees) in Japan. In addition to its headquarters in Tôkyô, the company has branches in Ôsaka, Nagoya, Kyûshû and Tohoku, as well as two overseas offices in Los Angeles and Singapore. Since 1970 NIKKEN SEKKEI has maintained its “In-house Shareholder Corporate System” and is partly owned by its employees. The company provides architectural, engineering and other services and has designed and completed over 20,000 construction projects in more than 40 countries. In recent years, the firm has been appointed as master architect for the urban redevelopment of Ho Chi Minh City.
