Japanese architect | 1951 born in Nagano prefecture | 1977 completes master degree in architecture at “Tôkyô National University of Fine Arts and Music” (today “Tôkyô University of the Arts”) | 1975-82 trains in design in Japan and abroad | 1982 founds “Atsushi Kitagawara Architects” | 2005 professor at Tôkyô National University of Fine Arts and Music | 2007 opens office in Berlin, Germany | 2010 honoured by “Japan Art Academy Prize” | 2019 professor emeritus at Tôkyô University of the Arts
