Founder KUME Gonkuro: 1895 born in Tôkyô | After graduating from high school he works in his father´s rubber factory in Singapore as an engineer and director | 1922 comes to Europe; works in a furniture factory | 1923-28 studies architecture at “Technische Hochschule Stuttgart” | 1929 receives doctorate under Paul Bonatz; further training period in London; returns to Japan; opens office together with WATANABE Jin | 1932 opens own architecture office; develops a combination of Japanese and Western forms | 1938 branch in China | 1965 KUME Gonkuro died | 1992 company calls itself “KUME SEKKEI”
