Japanese architect known for his landscape- and environment-friendly and modernist-oriented style | 1947 born in Ichikawa City, Chiba prefecture | 1973 master’s degree in architectural planning at “Waseda University”; starts to work for MAKI Fumihiko | 1979 establishes own architectural office “K Atelier” | 1979 works in department of architecture at “Tôkyô University” | 1983 leaves “University of Tôkyô, becomes president of K Atelier; studies in Europe for a year | 1987 establishes “Kûryû Architects & Associates” | 1989 receives award as “Best Young Architect” | 1992 teaches at “Chiba University” | 2001 receives the “Japan Art Academy Award” for best work | 2003 honoured by “Togo Murano Award”
