1894 born in Aichi prefecture | graduates from the architecture department of the “Tôkyô High School of Technology” (now “Tôkyô Institute of Technology”) | 1918 works for the “Ministry of the Interior”, wins the first prize with OKAMOTO Kaoru a competition to design the “Ôsaka Prefectural Government Building” – completed 1926 | 1924 becomes an engineer in the temporary building department of the City of Tôkyô – the Great Kanto Earthquake 1923 had destroyed many buildings, he was responsible for the construction of some 50 new primary schools | 1927 designs fire-resistant houses for the “Reconstruction and Building Aid Corporation” | 1981 died
