The castle complex Tsugaru-jô, now Hirosaki-jô, in the city of Hirosaki (Aomori prefecture) was commissioned by the local TSUGARU clan and dates back to 1611. Five gates, the moat and several small battle towers are still in their original state. The three-storey main tower has been reconstructed. Ôyô Park, where the castle is located, is now famous throughout the country for its cherry blossom at the end of April.
