Hakone-jinja 箱根神社
箱根権現 hakone-gongen
Hakone shrine / japanischer Shintô-Schrein
Lake Ashi / Moto-Hakone / Hakone
For a long time, the detached temple Kongo-in-Tofukuji was the core of Hakone Gongen, but when the Shintô and Buddhist faiths were separated in the Meiji era (1868-1912), the detached temple became a Shinto shrine and was renamed Hakone Shrine. The shrine was elevated to the status of a state-owned small shrine in 1928.
