Tôzan-jinja 陶山神社

Tôzan shrine / japanischer Shintô-Schrein

Arita City

Tōzan-jinja, a rather unusual Shinto shrine due to its numerous porcelain features, was founded in the mid-17th century in honour of Emperor Ōjin and Ri Sanpei, the forefather of the Arita pottery tradition. The spectacular entrance gate (torii), made of white and blue porcelain, was erected in 1888.
