Echizen-Kaga Kaigan Quasi-National Park
Sakai / Fukui prefecture / Sea of Japan
The coastal town of Tôjinbô – on the Sea of Japan in Fukui prefecture – is famous for its volcanic rock coastline, which is around 30 metres high and over a kilometre long, but also for the fact that numerous suicides have plunged to their deaths from the cliffs here in recent years.
