Amanohashidate 天橋立

part of “Tango-Amanohashidate-Ōeyama Quasi-National Park”

Amanohashidate, the “sky bridge”, is a 3.6 km long sandbar on the Sea of Japan and the name of the place south of this natural bridge. The pine-covered spit separates a piece of sea from Miyazu Bay, forming the Aso-kai lagoon. Amanohashidate – with Miyajima and Matsushima – belongs to nihon-sankei, the “three most beautiful landscapes in Japan”.
