Yusuhara Town 檮原町

Shikoku

Yusuhara is a town located in Shikoku, in the western part of Kochi Prefecture. Surrounded on all sides by mountains, forests account for 91 per cent of the town’s total area, promotional materials use the slogan ‘The Town Above the Clouds’. The northern part of the town is home to the Shikoku Karst Plateau, one of Japan’s three major karst regions. Yusuhara is also known for the buildings designed by KUMA Kengo.
