Kôfu City 甲府市

Between Nagoya City and Tôkyô, the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture with 200,000 inhabitants. In the Middle Ages, Kôfu was ruled by TAKEDA Shingen (1521-73). Later, the Oda families, the Asano allied with TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi and, in the Edo period, the shogunate took direct control of the province. Today, Kôfu is a popular tourist destination because of its hot springs (onsen).
