曹源池庭園

Tenryû-ji temple 天龍寺

Kyôto City

Sôgenchi-teien is a part of the Tenryû-ji temple in the Arashiyama / Kyôto area. The garden was designed in the 14th century by MUSÔ Soseki (1275-1351), a Rinzai Zen buddhist monk and teacher, calligraphist, poet and famous for designing temple gardens. Enhanced by the surrounding landscape of Mt. Arashiyama and Kameyama, it is a fine blend of aristocratic tradition and Zen culture, displaying the beauty of the four seasons.
