The shiohi-matsuri of Kamezaki is a festival of the Kamesaki shrine in Handa, at the peninsula of Chita-hantô, in the south of Nagoya City. The god of the shrine, Japan’s first emporer, landed in this area from the ocean a long time ago. The origin of the festival is unknown, but it is said, that he festival has been passed on over 300 years. Five parade floats (dashi) are drawn to the sand beach, into the water and out again.
