The Rainbow Bridge is a suspension bridge that was opened to traffic in 1993 and connects the Shibaura district with the raised island of Daiba. Its total length is 798 metres, the height 52 metres and the longest free-hanging section measures 570 metres. Because of its colourful illumination, the people of Tôkyô have given it the name ‘Rainbow Bridge’. The bridge can also be used by pedestrians.
