Canal City Hakata is a large shopping centre and entertainment complex, known as “city in the city”, opened in 1996. The US architect office “The Jerde Partnership” was responsible for the architectural design, also known for their designs of Roppongi Hills, Riverwalk Kitakyûshû and Namba Parks.
