NAWA Kôhei

名和晃平 (1975~)

Japanese sculptor based in Kyôto whose work has been exhibited in London, New York and Paris. He is a professor at the graduate school of the “Kyoto University of the Arts” | 1975 born in Ôsaka, Japan | 2002 presents “PixCell”, which symbolises the information age | 2003 receives PhD in fine arts from the “Kyôto City University of Arts” | becomes director of the platform SANDWISH, a production house for art, design and architecture | 2010 First Prize at the “14th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh”, Dhaka | 2019 contribute to a show presented as a sculputrale dance, in collaboration with choreographer Damien JALET | 2018-18 shows his work “Throne” in “Musée du Louvre”, Paris | 2000-2023 shows approx. 60 solo exhibitions and participates in over 160 group exhibitions
