“Houseball” symbolically represents the household of an exile – the bundle of a woman – and makes reference to the suffering of the ‘Bohemian immigrants’, the Protestant exiles from Bohemia who were expelled from their homeland in 1737 and allowed to settle in what is now Neukölln in Berlin with the permission of Friedrich Wilhelm I.
