多田美波 (1924 – 2014)

Japanese artist and designer who created metalic and acrylic large-scale sculptures using light reflections. Her works adorn many well-known buildings and received numerous awards | 1924 born in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan (then Japan) | 1944 graduates from “Joshibi University of Art and Design” (formerly “Joshibi College of Art and Design”), majoring in Western painting | 1960 awards the “Nika Art Exhibition Special Prize” | 1962 founds the “Minami Tada Institute” | 1994 honoured by the “Order of the Sacred Treasure, 4th Class” | 2012 receives honorary doctorate from Joshibi University | 2014 died in Suginami, Tokyo Prefecture
