Yokohama City 1911 / 1927

The building is an early Japanese modernist building and the first all-reinforced concrete office building in Japan and it survived the Great Kanto Earthquake (1923), which devastated a cluster of buildings in Yokohama, and impressed upon the effectiveness of reinforced concrete construction against earthquakes.
