German architect of Russian descent and member of the “International Academy of Architecture” (IAA) | 1962 born in Leningrad (today Sankt Petersburg) | 1973-80 attends “Middle Art School of the Academy of Arts” | 1980-86 studies at the architecture faculty of the “Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture” | 1989 freelance architect in Leningrad | 1991 moves to Germany | 1992 works in the Hamburg office of Nietz Prasch Sigl | 1995 becomes partner and takes over their Berlin branch | 2006 becomes partner in the Moscow office SPEECH | 2008~ editor of architectural magazine “speech” | 2009 founds “Tchoban Foundation”, which supports the “Museum of Architectural Drawing” in Berlin, opened in 2013
